My recipe for the Best Cocktail EVER. (It’s not what you think…)

Ingredients for the cocktail of life.
Ingredients for the cocktail of life.

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to spend time with my family and friends at a party hosted by my sister to share new features and resources on my website (watch for Heather’s fabulous new blog!) and to share my essential oils and how they can naturally support your health and wellness.  Well, we succeeded in doing what we set out to do for the gathering, but so much more happened and a day later, I am still feeling the high vibration from the positive energy in the room and the love and light shared by all.

So I will attempt to package these vignettes up into a sparkling martini glass that will hopefully prove to be the best cocktail ever.

One Part: Inspiration

During the party, I had the opportunity to catch up with a longtime friend who is exploring her passion and what she hopes to contribute in this life.  I recognized the fire and energy in her eyes and the desire to help others live healthy and fulfilling lives.  I also recognized the fear.  The fear of how to make this happen.  The fear of being good enough.  The fear of knowing enough.  And so the list goes on.  So I decided to share a very personal story with the group about how I finally overcame my fear and took the leap to start my own practice.  I think that in that moment, we all shed a tear, but more importantly, we shared a moment of being inspired by each other.  We must do our part each and every day to inspire others to shine their authentic and bright light, to face fear straight in the eye and move forward anyway.  I always love to quote a dear friend who often says: A rising tide lifts all boats.

Let’s lift ’em.

Two parts: Passion

Now that you have been inspired, think about what makes your heart sing.  What makes the fire blaze in your eyes.  What makes you willing to walk away from all that we are conditioned to believe matters most (money, cars, material items) so that you can spend your days contributing to the well-being of others.  As I near the one year anniversary of starting my business, I often say that my currency is no longer monetary, it is now seeing hope in someone’s eye when their health starts to improve, it is seeing someone achieve a physical feat that they never thought possible, it is seeing people make changes in how they nourish their bodies and improve their relationship with food.  And this is not to say that making money and supporting yourself isn’t important, of course it is, but it is more important to consider what drives you to keep doing what you are doing. There is still plenty of green in my life, it just comes from the produce drawer…

One Shot: Gratitude

Ah, yes.  There is just nothing better.  After the party was over and I was back in Boston, I still felt the “buzz” from the energy that was present.  The love that filled the room as I sat with my family and friends who all came to support my endeavors and to share their light.  My heart is so full that a periodic tear slides down my face.  What a gift.  What a life.

So there you have it, my recipe for the best cocktail ever.  Inspiration, passion, and gratitude.  Drink it in my friends, as it doesn’t get much better than this….
