My Deep, Dark, Snowed-in Secrets: Intentions & Realities

Snowed In.

So what really happens to a health and fitness coach who gets snowed in and has half of her appointments canceled?  Well, I can only speak for myself, but in the interest of being totally transparent and honest, here goes….

Intention:

Wake up and say: I’m going to use all the extra time that I have to do an extra workout.  I’ll do a cardio routine and then I will finally get to that new TRX plan that I’ve been wanting to try.

Reality:

Shoveled my car out.  Sat on the couch with my computer for the vast majority of the day thinking about when I would get to all of that exercise.  I did not….

Intention:

I’ve got tons of veggies and good stuff in the house so that I can eat light and clean while trapped inside.

Reality:

Oh, look there are lots of boxes of baking mixes in the back of the cabinet.  Oh, and there is that great “healthy” oatmeal cookie recipe that I can make.  Oh, there is a bag of sweet potato chips in the cabinet about the fridge… A bag of nuts from Fastachi?!? SCORE!

Intention:

I will meditate and focus my attention to get lots of stuff done that I need to do for my business as I will have extra time.

Reality:

No 6am client session, so slept later than usual and started the day with a passage from Marianne Williamson; reflected on being okay with where I am right in this moment.  (Yeah!) Left the rest of the stuff on the “to do” list for the next day…

————————————————–

So there you have it.  Do I wish that I had used this time to eat greens, exercise my butt off, and check off all of those lingering items on my ‘to do’ list?  Of course, but I didn’t and I am not ashamed of my actions.  I will not go down that all too familiar path of feeling guilty, derailed, and mad at myself.  Nope, I won’t have any of it and I hope that you won’t either.  Instead, I will do my best to choose love and light and cast it on myself – and all of you – as I strive to make the most of this crazy winter and move a bit more tomorrow.

How are YOU “weathering” the storm?  Share your intentions, realities, and anything else you care to vent below…

Shovel ramp, shovel to car, clean off car (top too!), go to work, answer calls “Are you closing school early?”, clean car off, shovel to ramp, shovel ramp (thank you bug for shoveling driveway). So I look at my Pilates chair, I’m tired, I sit, drink coffee, decide that 15 minutes on the treadmill would be a good “move.” Then I dream of my 100 daffodils sleeping under 2 FEET OF SNOW!!! Uhmmmmmm…Uhmmmmm…Uhmmmm.

As Dory says in Finding Nemo: Just keep swimming, just keep swimming! 🙂

Thank you, Crecia! Always worry about being “too” transparent, but heck, if I can’t be authentic, then what the heck is the point!
