Clearing my head along the River with “The Eagles”

Ever get that “heady” feeling?

Those moments when your thoughts are racing and you can’t seem to put one step in front of the other.

Those moments when “the sound of your own wheels drive your crazy.”

Follow me?

I had one of those the other morning and so I did what I know I need to do in those moments.

I got myself outside and walked down to the river…

And as I was walking, soaking up the green, soaking out the morning sun, soaking up the smell of river; one of my favorite songs by the Eagles came on and Glenn Fry sang to me…

Don't let the sound of your own wheels

drive you crazy

Lighten up while you still can

don't even try to understand

Just find a place to make your stand

and take it easy

Okay, I get it.  I hear you loud and clear.

So I did just that…  I found a place to “stand” and “take it easy.”

So ask yourself this:

  • What sounds of YOUR wheels making?

Are they worth listening to or do you just need to find a space to release them?

  • Can you lighten up a little?

Where are you allowing unnecessary darkness to creep in?

  • Where can YOU take a stand and allow yourself to take it easy?

Everyone needs a place, do you know yours?

I’m so grateful that I have my place along the river.  Clears my head and settles my soul every time.  Oh, and thank you to the Eagles for such a great song…
